Taliban’s Minister of Information and Culture Invited to Russian Cultural and Economic Summit

According to an official bulletin, Shir Ahmad Haqqani, the Taliban’s Minister of Information and Culture, has been invited to attend an economic, cultural, and tourism summit in Kazan, Russia. The meeting aims to discuss cultural cooperation and exchange views on tourism development.

The invitation was delivered by a delegation from the Russian Ministry of Culture to Fazl-ul-Hadi Hamza, the cultural attaché of the Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture in Moscow. The delegation included Anton Andreevich Kuznetsov, Deputy Head of the Department for the Support of Arts and Popular Initiatives at the Russian Ministry of Culture, Maria Sergiyovna, Head of Foreign Affairs at the ministry, and Andrey, her deputy.

During the meeting, the Taliban cultural attaché presented views and proposals regarding cultural and tourism cooperation. According to the source, the establishment of a cultural center for Afghans in Russia and several related issues were among the topics discussed.

Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia expressed readiness for joint cooperation in the mentioned fields and added that the ministry is interested in sending a high-level cultural delegation to Afghanistan.
