Flash Floods Affect Several Provinces in Afghanistan, Disrupt Lives and Damage Families

Flash floods have recently affected several parts of Afghanistan, causing widespread disruption to residents’ lives and damage to families. The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced that its teams are present in the affected areas and are currently assessing urgent humanitarian needs.
According to released information, these floods have impacted multiple regions, raising concerns about shelter, food supplies, and access to essential services. Detailed information on the extent of damages and potential casualties has not yet been released.
Afghanistan is considered one of the countries most vulnerable to natural disasters, with floods causing significant damage in several provinces each year. Experts consistently emphasize the need for better preparedness, effective crisis management, and the establishment of resilient infrastructure against natural hazards.
Amid this situation, it is expected that the Taliban administration, in coordination with domestic and international aid organizations, will expedite a prompt and transparent relief process to prevent the recurrence of widespread damage in such incidents.
