Al-Jolani: We Aim to Stay Out of US-Iran Conflict

Ahmed al-Shara, the former commander of the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra and the self-proclaimed president of Syria known as Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, stated that his country currently has no official relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and that Damascus’s policy is based on avoiding involvement in regional conflicts.
He made these remarks during a dialogue session at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London, known as Chatham House. According to him, Syria’s current priority is to maintain internal security and prevent the country from being drawn into external tensions.
Al-Shara emphasized that Syria does not intend to initiate any attacks and strives to keep away from conflict zones. He added that the goal of the country’s current leadership is to choose a path that protects the Syrian people from the consequences of military and political confrontations in the region.
Chatham House is one of the United Kingdom’s most reputable research institutions in the field of foreign policy and international relations, and its sessions are typically attended by political officials and experts.
