Over 28,000 Foreign Nationals Enter Afghanistan in One Year

The National Statistics and Information Authority has announced that during the past calendar year, 28,474 foreign citizens traveled to and from Afghanistan via border crossings and airports. According to recorded data, among these, 16,276 individuals, including 728 women, entered the country, while 12,198 others, including 158 women, left Afghanistan.

The authority stated that 2,369 of these individuals traveled to Afghanistan for the purpose of visiting historical sites and tourism, while the rest entered the country to pursue education or engage in work-related activities.

Statistics show that the highest number of foreign entrants arrived through Nimroz border, Herat airports and borders, Torkham border, Aqina, Hairatan, and also Mazar-e-Sharif airport. These crossings are among the most important transit and travel routes in the country, connecting Afghanistan to neighboring and regional countries.
