Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Naval Commander Killed in US-Israel Airstrike

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of its naval forces, has been killed following severe injuries sustained in an airstrike conducted by the United States and Israel. According to the IRGC’s official statement, he succumbed to his wounds after enduring intense injuries.

The statement detailed that Martyr Tangsiri was targeted during efforts to organize forces and strengthen the defensive capabilities of islands and coastal areas. The IRGC added that he had nearly fifty years of experience serving in various military sectors and was considered one of the most seasoned commanders of the naval force.

Continuing, the IRGC highlighted the operational history of its naval forces and stressed that despite the loss of its commander, the mission and path of the navy will persist. The statement also emphasized maintaining readiness and operational management within its areas of responsibility, including the Strait of Hormuz.

In closing, the IRGC extended its condolences and congratulations on the martyrdom of this senior commander to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, his family, and the country’s armed forces, reaffirming the continuation of his legacy.

Since the beginning of the US and Israeli military aggression against Iran, the IRGC navy has been tasked with closing the Strait of Hormuz and preventing the passage of vessels associated with hostile forces.
