Joint Missile and Drone Attack Destroys E-3 AWACS at Al-Kharj Base

The Public Relations Office of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that in a joint missile and drone operation, an E-3 AWACS aircraft at the Al-Kharj base in Saudi Arabia was targeted and, according to the organization, “completely destroyed.”

The IRGC statement noted that this action was carried out in response to what it called the “hostile actions of the United States military.” In addition to the AWACS aircraft, some other planes stationed at the base were also damaged.

The E-3 AWACS is an airborne early warning and control and command aircraft used to monitor air movements and manage operations. The Al-Kharj base in Saudi Arabia is considered one of the key military facilities in the country.
