Nearly 20,000 Families Displaced Amid Rising Tensions Between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Says WFP

The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced that nearly 20,000 families have been forced to leave their homes to ensure their safety amid escalating tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the agency said the displaced have moved across several affected areas and are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. According to the WFP, the organization is present in 12 affected provinces, providing vital aid to vulnerable families.
The assistance, as detailed, includes food supplies and other emergency support aimed at preserving the lives of families in critical conditions. The World Food Programme emphasized that its focus is on addressing the immediate basic needs of the displaced population.
The surge in tensions, which has triggered this new wave of displacement, comes at a time when many residents of the border areas were already grappling with economic hardships and a lack of essential services. Under these circumstances, managing tensions responsibly and paying serious attention to the plight of civilians becomes increasingly important.
