Taliban Administration Invests Heavily in Beekeeping Sector, Creating Thousands of Jobs

Officials from the Taliban’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock have announced significant investments in the beekeeping sector, which have resulted in employment opportunities for thousands of people across the country.

According to these officials, Afghanistan possesses suitable natural capacities for beekeeping and honey production, with thousands of metric tons of honey produced annually in various regions. They added that the country’s diverse climate and vegetation cover in several provinces provide favorable conditions for the growth of this industry.

In recent years, beekeeping has emerged as a low-cost and profitable activity in rural areas, supporting the livelihoods of many families. However, experts consistently emphasize the need for sustainable support, access to domestic and international markets, and transparent assistance programs.

While unemployment and poverty remain serious economic challenges in the country, the extent to which the Taliban administration fulfills its commitments and how these job opportunities are distributed are issues on which clear and precise information is expected from the authorities.
