Trump Denies US and Qatar Involvement in Israeli Attack on Iran’s Gas Facilities

US President Donald Trump has stated that his country was unaware of and did not participate in Israel’s attack on Iran’s South Pars gas facilities. He also said that Qatar had no role in the attack and was unaware of it.

On Thursday, Trump claimed that Israel targeted part of what is called Iran’s gas field out of anger over Middle East developments. According to him, only a small section of the facilities was damaged.

The US president also alleged that Iran retaliated by targeting some of Qatar’s liquefied natural gas facilities. He described this move as “unfair” and warned that if Qatar is attacked, it will face a heavy response.

At the same time, Trump stated that Israel would not carry out another attack on this gas field; a stance interpreted by some observers as a softer tone compared to previous days.

This comes as the Israeli newspaper “Israel Hayom” earlier reported that the Israeli Prime Minister informed Trump about the attack on South Pars and that Trump welcomed the action. Now, with Trump’s claim of unawareness, questions have arisen about the level of coordination between Washington and Tel Aviv in this incident.
