NY Times Reports Saudi Crown Prince’s Regular Calls with Trump Urging Tougher Stance on Iran

The New York Times has reported that Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, has been in regular contact with Donald Trump, the President of the United States, urging him to adopt a tougher approach towards the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the report, these calls took place amid earlier reports suggesting Saudi Arabia’s desire for U.S. military action against Iran even before the outbreak of war. The New York Times did not disclose further details regarding the content of these possible conversations.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced that between midnight and Monday morning, it had intercepted and destroyed 61 drones over the eastern regions of the country. The Ministry stated that this operation was part of defensive measures to safeguard the security of facilities and residential areas.

The eastern region of Saudi Arabia is considered one of the country’s key areas, hosting a significant portion of its oil facilities and holding ongoing strategic security importance.
