Three Dead and Four Injured in Traffic Accident on Mazar-i-Sharif-Jozjan Highway

Taliban authorities in Balkh province have reported that a collision involving three vehicles on the Mazar-i-Sharif-Jozjan highway resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to four others. The incident occurred on Saturday, 23rd Hoot, in the jurisdiction of the Chahar Bolak district.

Mohammad Isa Wathiq, spokesperson for the Taliban provincial police command in Balkh, stated that the crash involved three vehicles and one of the victims was a child.

According to him, the injured were taken to the hospital by emergency responders, but no further details about their medical condition have been released.

Traffic accidents on the country’s highways frequently claim civilian lives. Reckless driving, poor road conditions, and lack of effective traffic supervision are among the factors threatening residents’ safety—a concern repeatedly raised by citizens who urge the Taliban administration to implement practical and accountable measures to better manage the situation.
