Saudi Foreign Minister Consults with Germany and US on Regional Developments

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan held separate discussions with the foreign ministers of Germany and the United States regarding recent regional developments and their security implications. These consultations followed heightened tensions and reciprocal attacks in the region.

According to an official statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry, Faisal bin Farhan spoke with Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul to review the regional security situation and bilateral relations between Riyadh and Berlin. Both sides also discussed ways to strengthen their joint cooperation.

The statement noted that the German foreign minister condemned Iran’s attacks on US bases in Saudi Arabia and expressed his country’s solidarity with Riyadh. He also emphasized the necessity of expanding regional and international efforts to achieve peace and stability.

Simultaneously, the Saudi foreign minister held a phone call with Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State, during which they discussed ongoing developments. The conversation covered the attacks on US bases in Saudi Arabia and the wider region, as well as the importance of maintaining the security of Saudi Arabia, its citizens, and residents.
