IOM Assesses Urgent Needs of Displaced Families in Eastern Afghanistan

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced that following recent conflicts in border areas, its teams in eastern Afghanistan are currently assessing the needs of displaced families. According to the organization, these families require immediate and life-saving assistance.
IOM emphasized that the main focus is on identifying urgent needs, including shelter, food, and other humanitarian services, to ensure timely response.
Simultaneously, additional teams have been deployed to the provinces of Khost, Paktika, and Paktia to strengthen humanitarian aid efforts. These provinces, located in the east of the country, have previously hosted families forced to flee their homes due to insecurity and conflict.
The International Organization for Migration has not released further details on the number of displaced people or the extent of damages but stressed that field assessments are ongoing to tailor targeted assistance.
