Iran Labels Attack on Energy Infrastructure as ‘Crime Against Humanity’

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has described the recent attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure as a ‘crime against humanity.’ Esmaeil Baqaee wrote in a message on the social media platform X that these attacks on fuel storage facilities pose a serious threat to citizens’ lives and the environment.
He stated that targeting fuel depots has caused the release of toxic and hazardous substances into the atmosphere, with consequences that could affect the health of millions. According to him, the environmental impacts of this incident may extend beyond Iran’s borders.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson simultaneously characterized these attacks as a ‘war crime,’ ‘crime against humanity,’ and ‘genocide.’ He emphasized that such actions could have extensive human and environmental repercussions.
So far, no further details have been released regarding the extent of the damage or any official response from the parties accused of carrying out the attacks.
