Taliban Officials Report Over 183,000 Tons of Goods Transported by Rail in One Week

A spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works announced that over the past week, 183,187 metric tons of goods have been transported through the country’s railway lines. According to Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, these shipments were carried out via the Hairatan, Aqina, and Turghundi routes.
Based on the information provided, 390 tons of the total transported goods were exports. No further details about the types of exported goods have been released.
The Hairatan railway in the north, Aqina in Faryab, and Turghundi in Herat are among Afghanistan’s key rail corridors, playing a vital role in the transportation of commercial goods and linking the country to regional networks.
