Norwegian Refugee Council Provides Cash Aid to 4,300 Displaced in Nangarhar’s Mohmand Dara

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has announced that it has provided cash assistance to 4,300 displaced individuals in the Mohmand Dara district of Nangarhar province. These people were forced to leave their homes and seek safer areas following border clashes between the Taliban administration and Pakistan.

On Sunday, March 7, the council wrote on its Facebook page that families affected by the conflict were compelled to abandon their main areas due to insecurity. According to the organization, the cash support aims to address the urgent basic needs of these displaced persons.

The Norwegian Refugee Council emphasized that civilians must never be targeted and that protecting them is a fundamental responsibility of the conflicting parties. The organization added that despite the aid provided, the level of needs remains high.

According to reports from international organizations, clashes between the Taliban administration and Pakistan have displaced more than 66,000 families in the border provinces. The United Nations has also urged both sides to end the tensions as soon as possible and ensure effective protection for civilians—a call that has gained unprecedented importance amid ongoing insecurity.
