US Suffers $2.52 Billion in Damage from Iran’s Retaliatory Attacks

According to an infographic and data compiled by Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, as of March 6, extensive military clashes between the United States and Iran have resulted in approximately $2.52 billion worth of damage, destruction, or loss to U.S. military equipment and assets. The largest single loss concerns the AN/FPS-132 early warning radar system at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, valued at $1.1 billion, which was seriously damaged by an Iranian missile strike.
The Turkish state news agency (aa.com.tr) published an updated report on March 6, 2026, detailing U.S. material damages based on its estimates. The report indicates that Iran, responding to initial joint U.S. and Israeli attacks that began on February 28 and led to the killing of senior Iranian officials including the Supreme Leader, launched missile and drone attacks against U.S. bases and assets in the Persian Gulf region.
Key damages according to Anadolu’s infographic include:
– Qatar – Al Udeid Air Base: AN/FPS-132 radar (early warning system) → $1.1 billion (largest single damage)
– United Arab Emirates – Al Ruways: AN/TPY-2 radar linked to the THAAD missile defense system → $500 million (radar destroyed)
– Six AN/TPY-2 (THAAD) radars → $500 million
– Kuwait: Three F-15E Strike Eagle fighters → $282 million
– Unknown location: Three MQ-9 Reaper drones → $90 million
– Kuwait – Camp Arifjan: Three AN/GSC-52B MET communication terminals → $30 million (building roofs collapsed)
– Bahrain – Fifth Fleet Headquarters: Two AN/GSC-52B MET communication terminals → $20 million (severely damaged)
– Iraq – Erbil Base: Four structures damaged (valuations unspecified)
Additionally, the report references other incidents with unquantified financial values but involving human casualties and structural harm:
– Camp Arifjan, Kuwait: Tactical operations center struck resulting in six U.S. soldier deaths.
– Camp Buehring, Kuwait: Drone impact.
– Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait: Roofs of multiple buildings collapsed.
– Fifth Fleet Headquarters, Bahrain: Two satellite terminals severely damaged.
– U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Two drone strikes.
– U.S. Consulate in Dubai: Drone hit a parking area.
– Jebel Ali port, Dubai: A fire occurred.
This infographic uses marked symbols—orange circles for diplomatic and intelligence centers and red circles for military bases—to indicate targeted locations on the Middle East map and is based on data from Anadolu Agency. Earlier reports by Anadolu in early March cited damages of approximately $1.9 billion, which has since been revised upward to $2.52 billion.
These damages have emerged as the conflict enters its second week, with the U.S. and Israel having attacked over 2,000 targets inside Iran. Iran has responded by focusing attacks against American assets in neighboring countries such as Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
