Taliban Appoints Ministry Approves Refugee Housing Project in Logar Province
As part of the continued return of refugees to Afghanistan, the acting head of the Taliban’s Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has approved a detailed plan for a special housing complex dedicated to returnees in Logar province. This project aims to address some of the immediate shelter needs of returning families.
The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing announced that the housing complex is designed over an area of 2,143 jeribs of land and will include 3,385 residential plots. According to the ministry, the plan for the complex also incorporates educational centers, health facilities, roads, and other essential services for the residents.
Mawlawi Najibullah Hayat Haqqani, acting head of the Ministry, emphasized the importance of timely attention to the problems faced by returning families and stated that the process of providing shelter for them must be expedited.
The ministry further claimed that, under the directives of the Taliban leadership, the design and implementation of dedicated residential complexes for refugees in other provinces will continue at an accelerated pace. Stable housing for returnees remains one of the fundamental needs of these families after years of displacement.
