Over 80 Factories Operating in Residential Areas of Ghazni Province

The Industry and Commerce Directorate of Ghazni province has announced that out of nearly 120 active factories in the province, more than 80 are located in residential areas and continue to operate.
According to officials of this directorate, a significant portion of the manufacturing units have been established within the city and close to residents’ homes — a situation that may lead to noise pollution, environmental concerns, and urban safety issues.
Ghazni is one of the key provinces along the country’s trade highway routes and has witnessed an increase in small and medium-scale manufacturing activities in recent years. However, the absence of standard industrial parks and effective oversight of factory locations has resulted in many of these units being situated in residential neighborhoods.
While the Taliban administration is responsible for regulating industrial activities and protecting citizens’ rights, it is expected that practical measures be taken to relocate factories from residential zones to designated industrial parks and to establish clear monitoring mechanisms to safeguard the rights and health of residents.
