Russia’s Lavrov Says Iran Has Not Sent Message to US to End Conflict

Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, stated that Iran has not sent any message to the United States to end the conflict and is currently focused on self-defense. He also mentioned that Moscow, together with its partners, is trying to create an environment that makes operations against Iran impossible.

According to RIA Novosti, Lavrov emphasized that Russia expresses sympathy for any civilian casualties in the Middle East crisis and warned that the ongoing developments could have wide-ranging consequences for the region and the global economy.

The Russian foreign minister added that even within the United States, there are differing views regarding the real objectives of the operations against Iran. According to him, one of the goals of the actions by the US and Israel could be to create discord among Middle Eastern countries.

Lavrov also accused the West of obstructing progress towards a positive agenda in the Middle East and acting based on a policy of ‘divide and rule.’ In another part of his remarks, he stated that NATO is being drawn into a war against Iran.
