Iran Confirms Downing of US F-15 Jet Near Kuwait Border

The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced this morning that they targeted an advanced US F-15 fighter jet near the Iran-Kuwait border. According to official sources, the wreckage of the aircraft fell within Kuwaiti territory. Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense also confirmed the incident and the crash of the plane on its soil through an official statement.
Reports indicate that videos capturing the moment the fighter jet was targeted and subsequently crashed have been widely circulated on international media and social networks since a few hours ago. No further details have yet been released regarding the fate of the aircraft’s crew.
This incident holds significant military importance as the last recorded case of a US fighter jet being downed dates back 27 years to the Kosovo War when a Yugoslavian force shot down an F-117 stealth fighter.
Military experts state that in recent decades, due to remarkable technological advancements in fighter aircraft and defense systems, official instances of manned US fighter jets being destroyed have been very rare. Therefore, this development could impact future military assessments and calculations related to technological warfare.
Additionally, images have emerged showing the condition of the pilot after the crash in western Kuwait. Reports say that following an emergency landing, the pilot was detained by local residents and subsequently handed over to Kuwaiti security forces. Official authorities have not yet provided further information regarding the pilot’s health or more details about the incident.
