Bomb Blast Destroys Government School in South Waziristan

Police officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have reported that unidentified armed men destroyed a government secondary school in South Waziristan using explosives, resulting in the complete demolition of the educational institution’s building.

According to local police, the incident occurred in the Barmal area, specifically in a place known as ‘Sharif Khan Koot.’ The attackers first set fire to the boys’ school building before detonating explosives to target the structure.

The police added that the blast was so powerful that the school building was completely razed to the ground. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Both South and North Waziristan have witnessed repeated attacks on educational facilities in recent years. Targeting schools, especially girls’ schools, remains a significant security challenge in these areas, raising concerns about the ongoing threats to education and children’s access to learning.
