Over 100 Palestinians Detained in West Bank Since Start of Ramadan Amid Rising Military Operations

The Palestinian Prisoners Center has announced that Israeli forces have detained over 100 Palestinian citizens, including women and children, across various areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. According to the center, these arrests have coincided with an escalation in military operations during Ramadan.

The center reported that detentions have been recorded in most governorates of the West Bank, especially Jerusalem, with a significant increase in field interrogations. The organization states that these recent measures are part of what it describes as “collective punishment” and target various segments of Palestinian society.

The Palestinian Prisoners Center also reported that since the start of the war in Gaza, over 22,000 Palestinians have been detained. The center believes the intensity of clashes and arrest operations during this period has risen to an unprecedented level.

The report from the center highlights incidents including severe beatings of detainees, house demolitions, confiscation of citizens’ property, and damage to civilian infrastructure. It also claims that using family members as hostages, employing detainees as human shields, and carrying out summary executions have been recorded in some cases.

The Palestinian Prisoners Center emphasized that this approach is part of longstanding policies towards the Palestinian community; however, it noted that the scale and severity have notably increased following the recent Gaza conflicts. The center added that the systematic detention process continues.
