Water Supply Network Completed in Laghman, Providing Safe Drinking Water to 890 Families

Officials from the Department of Rehabilitation and Rural Development in Laghman province announced the completion of a water supply network in Mehtarlam city, the provincial capital, granting access to drinking water for 890 families.

According to these officials, the project was carried out in the refugee township located in the Kaper village area of Mehtarlam city. The implementation cost of this network was approximately 19 million Afghanis, and the construction was completed within four months.

This project was funded and executed by the Ministry of Rehabilitation and Rural Development under the Taliban administration. Its primary aim was to provide safe drinking water to the families residing in this area.

Laghman is an eastern province of Afghanistan where some areas face shortages of safe drinking water. Although such projects can address some of the basic needs of the people, residents of the province have consistently emphasized the importance of balanced expansion of public services across all regions.
