Israeli Media Reports Hamas Tunnel Network in Gaza Extends to 500 Kilometers

Israel’s Channel 14 TV has reported that the length of the underground tunnels of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip reaches approximately 500 kilometers, a figure that highlights the extensive nature of the group’s underground network.
The report noted that this distance is roughly equivalent to the span between the Lebanese border and the city of Eilat at Israel’s southernmost point. This comparison was made to illustrate the geographical scale of the tunnels.
The Gaza Strip, which has for years been a scene of recurring clashes between Israel and Hamas, features a complex network of underground tunnels used for military purposes and transportation.
Meanwhile, despite over two years of war and extensive Israeli operations in Gaza, and despite widespread destruction in the area, Israel has not been able to identify and eliminate all tunnels belonging to Hamas; this continues to be a significant security challenge in the ongoing conflict.
