Call for ‘Uprising Against Infidels’ Made at Jihadi School Gathering in Faryab

During the graduation ceremony of a jihadi school in Andkhoy city, Faryab province, a man identifying himself as ‘Abu Ubaidah’ and dressed similarly to Hamas fighters called on participants to “rise up against infidels.” The gathering was attended by a number of students and supporters.

This event takes place amid an unprecedented increase in the establishment and expansion of jihadi schools in several provinces across Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover of the country. Many of these educational centers focus on ideological teachings and extremist interpretations of religion.

Educational and social experts have previously warned that promoting such rhetoric within educational environments could pave the way for further radicalization and instability in society. However, the Taliban administration has yet to provide public and transparent clarification regarding the curriculum and operations of these schools.

Critics argue that the expansion of jihadi education, instead of strengthening a standard educational system, poses serious challenges to the future generation and exposes Afghanistan to greater international isolation.
