Construction of Panjshir-Takhar Road Worth 451 Million Afghanis Set to Begin Soon

Local officials in Panjshir province have announced that construction of the road connecting Panjshir and Takhar provinces, valued at over 451 million Afghanis, will commence in the near future. The project aims to reduce travel distance and facilitate transportation between the two provinces.
According to information provided by the Panjshir provincial media office, Hafiz Mohammad Agha Hakim, the governor of Panjshir, held talks with Mulla Mohammad Isa Thani, the Taliban administration’s Minister of Public Works, regarding several infrastructure projects. Their discussion focused on the Panjshir–Takhar road, the road in the Abshar district, and the reconstruction of public routes within the province.
The source stated that a 26-kilometer road between Panjshir and Takhar will be built at a cost of 451.6 million Afghanis. Additionally, the construction project for the Abshar district road, estimated at 7.7 million Afghanis, is among the upcoming plans.
Local officials say that once the Panjshir–Takhar road is completed, the distance between the two provinces will be shortened, allowing residents of Takhar and other northeastern provinces to reach Kabul in just a few hours instead of several days. This development is expected to positively impact transportation and economic activities in the region.
