Restoration of Jozgun Hydroelectric Dam in Faizabad Underway

The Badakhshan Electricity Department has announced that the reconstruction work on the Jozgun hydroelectric dam in Faizabad, which had been out of operation for several years, is now progressing rapidly. Hakmatullah Anwari, the head of the department, stated that regular cleaning of the sediment basin, water flow regulation, and several other technical tasks are ongoing. According to him, these technical measures aim to prepare the facility for reactivation, and it is expected that the Jozgun dam will soon be operational again. Small hydroelectric dams in Badakhshan province play a crucial role in providing local energy, and the reactivation of these facilities can help meet part of the electricity needs of Faizabad residents.
