UNICEF Reports on Family-Centered Health Facility in Nangarhar Mountains Providing Vital Medical Services

UNICEF has reported that the “Miyaji Family Health House” in the remote mountainous regions of Nangarhar province is delivering essential healthcare services to families, overcoming long-standing difficulties in access within these areas.
According to published information, healthcare workers at the center, supported by the European Union, provide safe childbirth care, nutritional support, and basic medical treatment, enabling families to receive life-saving services close to their homes.
Relief organizations have repeatedly emphasized that under the current conditions in Afghanistan, especially under the Taliban’s administration, equitable and sustainable access to healthcare faces serious challenges. The continued operation of such centers is critically important to reduce mortality rates and safeguard the health of mothers and children.
UNICEF added that focusing on expanding healthcare services in remote areas can help bridge existing gaps in access to primary care—gaps that disproportionately affect impoverished and low-income families.
