Taliban Ministry of Public Health Opens Cancer Treatment Center in Kabul

The Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health has officially inaugurated a cancer treatment center in Kabul, aiming to expand specialized health services. It is expected that its capacity will significantly increase in the coming years.

During the opening ceremony, Noor Jalal Jalali stated that the hospital is planned to offer more advanced treatment services for cancer patients in the long term.

He added that establishing such centers can address some of the treatment needs of citizens within the country, whereas previously many patients were forced to seek treatment abroad.

Health experts emphasize that developing cancer treatment infrastructure requires sustainable investment, skilled personnel, and regular access to standard equipment and medicines—issues that remain major challenges for Afghanistan’s health system.
