Norway Donates 10 Million Kroner to Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan announced on Tuesday, 7th Dalw, that it has received a donation of 10 million Norwegian Kroner, equivalent to 990,000 US dollars, for the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund.
In a message published on the social media platform X, OCHA expressed gratitude to the Norwegian government for this contribution, stating that the funds will enable frontline partners to respond quickly and effectively to sudden emergency events.
According to OCHA, the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan remains extensive, with 21.9 million people in the country requiring humanitarian aid this year. Continued restrictions and structural challenges in the country have made access to basic services difficult.
OCHA added that humanitarian organizations have prioritized assisting 17.5 million people and require a budget of 1.72 billion US dollars to meet these needs—a figure whose fulfillment is uncertain without sustained support from the international community.
