Russia Destroys 168 Ukrainian Drones in Its Airspace Amid Ongoing Conflict

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that Russian forces identified, intercepted, and destroyed 168 Ukrainian drones over various regions of Russia last night. According to the ministry, these operations took place in multiple areas, and all drones were eliminated before reaching potential targets.

Meanwhile, Agence France-Presse quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin as saying that Moscow still believes it will achieve victory in the war in Ukraine. However, Putin did not provide further details regarding the timeline or path for this claim.

On the other side, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said last night that his country is “about 10 percent” away from achieving peace. He emphasized that Kyiv desires an end to the war, but not at a cost that would jeopardize Ukraine’s future.

Zelensky warned that signing weak peace agreements could lead not to an end of the conflict but rather to its continuation or escalation. He stated that any deal signed without proper guarantees carries the risk of intensifying the war.
