Hamas Confirms Death of Former Military Spokesperson Abu Ubaida in Gaza Strikes

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas confirmed on Monday through a statement that “Abu Ubaida,” the former spokesperson of its military wing, was killed during Israeli army attacks in the Gaza Strip. According to Hamas, he lost his life along with members of his family as a result of bombing residential areas.

The statement noted that Abu Ubaida had played a prominent role in the recent clashes as part of the so-called “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation and stood firm against Israeli forces until his last moment. Hamas described this event as part of what it calls the “ongoing battle of the Palestinian nation.”

The Hamas movement further condemned the assassination and targeting of its leaders and prominent figures, stating that such actions would not affect the continuation of the group’s activities. The statement emphasized that Israeli attacks on residential areas, especially in Gaza, have intensified the suffering of civilians and contradict humanitarian principles.

Simultaneously with confirming Abu Ubaida’s death, Hamas disclosed his real identity for the first time. According to this information, his full name was Huzaifa Samir Al-Kahlout, and he operated under the nom de guerre “Abu Ibrahim” as the spokesperson of the al-Qassam Brigades.
