Nine Suspects Arrested for Armed Robbery in Herat

The Herat Police Directorate has announced that associates of the 12th security district in the province have arrested nine individuals on suspicion of stealing mobile phones and vehicles from residents of Herat city during a series of investigative operations.

According to the Media and Public Relations Department of the Herat Police Directorate, these individuals were arrested on Saturday, and during the operation, a pistol was also seized from them. Officials say the suspects are currently under supervision.

The police directorate added that after completing investigations and gathering evidence, the cases of these individuals will be handed over to judicial and legal authorities to proceed with the legal process.

In recent years, the increase in armed robberies in some urban areas of Herat has caused concern among residents; a situation that underscores the need for transparency, accountability, and effective action by security institutions under the Taliban administration.
