Democrats Gain Senate Majority in US Midterm Elections

In the United States midterm elections, the Democrats secured 51 seats, gaining control of the Senate, while Republicans under President Donald Trump were reduced to 40 seats. This victory enables the Democrats to resist the President’s nominee candidates for government positions and have greater influence in passing legislation.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump congratulated the Democrats on the election results in an interview with CBS and expressed his readiness to cooperate with the party. He expressed hope that both parties would work together for the country’s benefit but simultaneously emphasized that he would use his veto power if necessary to block the passage of laws.

Trump attributed some Republican candidates’ defeats to his name not being on the voters’ list and claimed that if he had been a candidate, the Republicans would have won.
