Afghanistan and Turkmenistan Continue Talks on TAP Electricity Project
The head of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) has announced that the implementation process of the TAP electricity transmission project with Turkmenistan is progressing regularly and continuously, with delegations from both countries engaged in ongoing talks.
Abdul Bari Omar made these remarks on Thursday during the inauguration of several electricity projects in Herat province. He said efforts are ongoing to sign an official agreement between the parties in the near future.
According to him, once the agreement is finalized and signed, the practical implementation stage of the TAP project will commence.
The TAP project is one of the regional electricity transmission initiatives aimed at supplying power from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan and strengthening the country’s energy infrastructure.
