Putin Affirms Russia’s Support for Venezuela Amid External Pressures

Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, conveyed in his New Year’s greeting to Nicolás Maduro that Moscow remains steadfast alongside Venezuela and its people in the face of external pressures.

In this message, Putin described the bilateral relations between Russia and Venezuela over the past year as “very successful” and expressed satisfaction with the progress of cooperation between the two countries. He said that interactions between Moscow and Caracas have been expanding across various sectors.

The Russian president also emphasized the importance of the cooperation and strategic partnership treaty between the two nations; an agreement which, he said, provides a foundation for strengthening qualitative and constructive collaboration in multiple fields.

Referring to what he called unprecedented external pressures on Venezuela, Putin highlighted Russia’s enduring solidarity with the Venezuelan people and affirmed Moscow’s readiness to continue close cooperation with Caracas on bilateral and international matters.

In conclusion, he wished Nicolás Maduro health and success and called for peace and prosperity for the people of Venezuela.
