UN Launches New Health Program to Support Vulnerable Communities in Afghanistan

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced the launch of a new health program in Afghanistan to address the urgent health needs of various communities across the country.

According to released information, this initiative is being implemented with a financial contribution of three million US dollars from the Polio Legacy Challenge program, which is managed by the Islamic Development Bank Group.

The international organization stated that the program is designed to improve access to essential health services in vulnerable areas, aiming to alleviate the pressure on communities that have faced consecutive humanitarian and health crises in recent years.

Afghanistan continues to grapple with extensive health challenges, where structural limitations, lack of facilities, and a reduction in international aid have made it difficult for many residents to access medical services.
