Ten Vineyards Distributed to Boost Grape Production in Kandahar’s Maroof District

The Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock in Kandahar announced the distribution of ten vineyards in Maroof district of the province to increase grape yields and strengthen horticulture.
According to Mohammad Hanif Haqmal, spokesperson for the directorate, each vineyard has been established on one jerib of land and has been provided to ten deserving farmers in this district with financial support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
He added that the program is not limited to distributing vineyards alone; necessary horticultural tools have also been provided to the farmers.
Officials further stated that training on vineyard maintenance and methods to increase grape yields has been given to farmers so they can effectively utilize these vineyards.
