Taliban Representative Meets Polish Special Envoy in Doha to Discuss Bilateral Relations and Consular Services

Mohammad Sohail Shaheen, the Taliban-appointed ambassador for Afghanistan in Qatar, met and held talks with Witold Sobkow, Poland’s special envoy for Afghanistan, in Doha. According to information released by the Afghan embassy in Qatar, the main focus of the meeting was to review bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Poland. Additionally, discussions were held on providing consular services to Afghan citizens residing in Poland. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the current political situation in Afghanistan as well as Poland’s humanitarian aid to the country. The Afghan embassy stated that several topics of mutual interest were also addressed during the session. Since the Taliban regained power, Afghanistan’s diplomatic relations with many countries have continued at a limited and unofficial level. Meetings like this are mostly conducted within the framework of working contacts and humanitarian engagement.
