UN-Habitat Launches Property Documentation Program in Kunduz to Aid Displaced Families

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) office in Afghanistan has announced that addressing access to housing, land, and property is crucial to rebuilding the lives of displaced individuals.
According to the announcement, UN-Habitat, in collaboration with the Afghanistan Housing Foundation (AHF), has initiated a program to improve access to information and documentation related to housing, land, and property in Kunduz province.
The agency stated that this initiative involves documenting housing and property rights, aiming to assist approximately six thousand families in preserving and securing their homes and livelihoods amid the challenges of displacement.
Social experts say the lack of valid property documents is a significant challenge for displaced families in many provinces of Afghanistan; if left unaddressed, this issue could lead to local disputes and increase the vulnerability of these families.
