UK and Pakistan Discuss Relocation of Afghan Refugees

Talal Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior Affairs, has met with Baroness Chapman, the UK’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, in Islamabad. The discussions were focused on migration cooperation between the two countries, particularly the relocation of Afghan refugees to the United Kingdom.

According to a press release from Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior Affairs, Baroness Chapman expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts and initiatives in migration collaboration with the UK. She described these actions as an effective step towards organizing the process of relocating Afghan refugees.

Officials from both countries also exchanged views on regional security concerns and other issues that could impact migration and border stability. The meeting comes amid ongoing challenges faced by thousands of Afghans who, following recent political developments, are living under difficult migration conditions in neighboring countries, including Pakistan.
