Russia Says It Downed Over 100 Ukrainian Drones in Overnight Offensive

Russia’s Ministry of Defense has announced that its air defense systems shot down 116 Ukrainian drones during overnight military operations across various fronts. According to Russian military officials, this action is part of broader efforts to thwart Ukrainian attacks along the front lines of the ongoing war.

The ministry also reported that Russian drone units targeted Ukrainian military positions along the banks of the Dnipro River, a strategic location in central Ukraine that has seen intense fighting since the war began.

In a separate development, a Russian military source claimed that Russian forces targeted a Ukrainian border command center in a third operational axis. According to the source, the attack resulted in casualties among some Ukrainian commanders.

The war between Russia and Ukraine, which began in February 2022, continues despite international sanctions and diplomatic mediation efforts. The conflict shows no signs of abating, with escalating violence and expanded areas of engagement reported daily.
