Pakistan’s Prime Minister Reports Positive Trilateral Defense Talks in Tehran

Shahbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, stated on Wednesday that last month’s meeting in Tehran provided an opportunity for positive discussions regarding the trilateral defense pact among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. He added that the meeting, which was part of efforts to reduce tensions in the West Asia region and strengthen regional cooperation, took place in a constructive atmosphere and focused on enhancing coordination between the three countries. These talks followed the signing of the defense agreement known as the “Mecca Defense Pact” in August between Iran and the three countries— Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey—aimed at developing security and defense cooperation. The meeting in Tehran occurred amid regional efforts to maintain stability and reduce conflicts in the Middle East, a matter that could have significant implications for the region’s security and political developments.
