Paktunkhwa authorities accused of demolishing legal businesses and jobs

A young trader in Paktunkhwa province has protested against the ongoing demolition of shops and commercial centres by local officials and the regional governor’s administration. He says that instead of creating proper conditions for economic activity, the government is destroying people’s lawful and legitimate businesses.

The trader added that these commercial centres employ dozens of people and that local capital, largely earned through work in Dubai and other countries, has been invested in these areas.

Affected traders have strongly called on officials to support their businesses and stressed that the authorities should find a fair solution to their problems rather than worsening families’ economic hardship and pushing them towards ruin.
