Kabul Police Seize More Than 12,000 Narcotic Tablets in District 11

Kabul police, affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, have announced the seizure of 12,439 narcotic tablets in areas of the city’s District 11.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, one person was arrested in connection with the incident, and his case will be handed over to judicial authorities after initial investigations are completed.

The anti-narcotics police action comes as drug trafficking and the spread of narcotics remain among the major security, social and health challenges in the capital and across Afghanistan.

The Taliban administration has so far been unable to implement effective measures to reduce the production and distribution of narcotics in Kabul and other provinces of the country, and the situation surrounding this issue has had an unwelcome impact on the lives of citizens and public security.
