Border Clashes Between Pakistani Forces and Taliban Leave Casualties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

An exchange of fire sparked by Taliban attempts to shoot without justification in the Tayda and Ghuzgarhi areas of Lower Kurram district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province led to clashes that killed several members of the Afghan Taliban.

Pakistani forces responded by targeting and destroying Taliban outposts at Tapsar and Shipola, forcing the Taliban to abandon one of their positions.

According to Pakistani media reports, the Taliban opened fire to facilitate the passage of “foreign terrorists,” an action that had serious security consequences for both sides.

The Taliban administration has so far made no official comment on the incident, but some sources within the administration have told the media that the clash left people dead and injured.

Earlier, clashes were also reported between the Taliban and Pakistani forces in the border areas of Dand Patan and Zazi Aryob districts in Paktia province, where some Pakistani rockets landed in residential areas and made living conditions difficult for residents.

Further details on the casualties and damage from these clashes have not yet been made available.
