OIC envoy meets UNAMA and UNICEF officials in Kabul

Tarik Ali Bakhit, the special envoy of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, met on Wednesday in Kabul with Scott Smith, head of political affairs at UNAMA, and Tajudeen Oyewale, UNICEF representative.

According to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the meeting reviewed Afghanistan’s humanitarian situation and the international community’s ongoing efforts to address humanitarian needs.

The organisation added that the talks focused on continuing contacts and strengthening coordination among international partners to respond to humanitarian needs in Afghanistan. The meeting was part of the special envoy’s consultations with representatives of international institutions and the Taliban administration during his visit to Afghanistan.
