Floods and Lightning in Nangarhar and Kunar Injure Five

Heavy rain, flooding and lightning in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar and Kunar provinces have left at least five people injured and caused severe damage to residents.

Local Taliban administration officials in Nangarhar say several districts in the province have seen homes and farmland damaged. They added that the destruction of parts of roads has made it difficult for residents to travel in some areas.

According to these officials, an assessment is under way to determine the exact scale of the damage and the number of affected families. So far, no further details have been released about the condition of the injured or the extent of the damage in Kunar.
