Taliban Agriculture Minister Travels to Tashkent

The Taliban administration has announced that Ataullah Omari, acting minister of agriculture, irrigation and livestock, has travelled to Tashkent at the official invitation of Uzbekistan’s agriculture ministry.
According to the Taliban administration’s agriculture ministry, Omari is due to take part in the “Global Technical Forum of Landlocked Countries, Food Security and Sustainable Development Goals,” which will be held on October 7-8.
The ministry added that during the visit, the expansion of bilateral and regional cooperation between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan in the fields of agriculture, irrigation, livestock, trade and investment will also be discussed.
According to the Taliban administration’s agriculture ministry, the Afghan delegation will also hold talks with officials and representatives of participating countries on the development of trade in agricultural products, exports, attracting investment, and the transfer of professional knowledge and experience.
Uzbekistan is a Central Asian country that in recent years has hosted meetings related to regional cooperation and food security, and Tashkent is considered one of the main cities for holding technical meetings in this field.
